Internal Doors
At Bolton Joinery we supply and fit doors...
We're
committed to helping you transform your home and fitting new doors does just
that.
We will fit your doors, including best quality washered
hinges, latch and 'Carlisle' handles. We will also 'finish' the doors with
paint, varnish or oil. We like to offer a complete door fitting service and can
often fit a complete set of doors in one day! Most of the painting
or varnishing is done in our workshop before we fit the doors so there's only
one coat applied in your home and you can imagine how convenient that is.
There is a very wide range of doors available to be fitted
internally, such as engineered oak or hardwood to solid pitch
pine.

DOOR STOPS! (WHERE NECESSARY)
Choose your finish - finishing Your
Doors
Bolton Joinery can professionally seal and finish your doors.
Your doors will need to be sealed as soon after installation as possible, this not only stops the absorption of atmospheric moisture which can swell the doors but also prevents dirt and stains from penetrating the wood.
We varnish or paint the majority of doors we fit. We are very good at it.
Painting
Some doors are already primed, these now need undercoating and top coating with a gloss or satin paint, this will seal and protect the door and make it easy to clean. It looks
rather good too.

Varnishing
Usually, when you have installed a door made out of a nice
wood like oak or hardwood you will want to show off the beauty of the wood. Varnishing is the most common finish for real wood,
especially oak.
We seal the door first which hardens the fibres of the wood,
we then sand it down, apply 2 coats of varnish, sanding in between coats.

Metric doors were very popular in the 1970s and are still made although usually 10% more expensive. Not all doors are available in metric sizes but please get in touch to see what is available.
These are the metric sizes,

Doors Fittings
Sealing
It is strongly recommended that once any door has been fitted it is 'sealed'. This is usually paint or varnish but other treatments can be used such as Danish oil or wax. We can use any of these treatments to a very high standard, please ask. Depending on the moisture in your home a door may react in different ways.
